  1. SCIENCE FICTION REVIEW 26 - A black ink and black color pencil drawing on an 11 x 14 size coquille paper. It appears on the cover of SFR, a fanzine edited and published by Richard Geis.

Henry David Thoreau, who built a little cabin in the woods near Walden Pond, wrote this in his book titled, Walden Pond": "I am never alone for I have a great deal of company in this house, especially in the morning, when nobody calls". He was referring to the books in his library that provided him with the best company; his favorite authors and their great thoughts that inspired him to respond with thoughts of his own.

I feel the same way, my home is filled with authors who are willing to talk to me, all I have to do is open one of their books and listen to them with my mind. So, while it may seem like a paradox, though there is no one in the house but me, I am not alone.

But I know some people who can't stand being alone, they are always going out, to parties, to shows, to bars, anywhere where there are people. Truly, when they are alone at home, the house is empty.
